G.M.C. is now satisfied regarding the

examinations and curriculum at the Medical Colleges specified in para. 2 of Dr. Gordon King's memorandum of the 8th February (behind (13)). We can, there- fore, now proceed to consider in more detail our proposals for the constitution of a statutory body empowered to confer degrees in the name of Hong Kong University.

Meanwhile, I would acknowledge (17), and ask the Foreign Office to reply to the Ambassador at Chung King as in2drafts herewith.
